A Resource and Support Hub for Local Government

"As a resource and support hub for local governments, community members, and partners across Chatham, Durham, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Orange, and Wake counties, we believe that our region thrives when we come together with a common vision and plan for the future."

We advance this goal by developing cost-effective and innovative approaches to implement public programs, advancing partnerships that ensure the continuity of local services, and bringing together local government leaders to learn from one another and grapple with their biggest challenges.

🎯

Our Mission

To connect communities and enhance strategic priorities through regional collaboration, sound policy, and data-driven technical assistance.

🔭

Our Vision

To be the premier regional body offering timely, dependable, and forward-thinking solutions that strengthen our region's economic vitality, environmental resilience, and quality of life.

Our Work Across the Region

CPRC helps towns, cities, and counties tackle big challenges they can't solve alone — things like planning for growth, improving transportation, preparing for natural disasters, and supporting aging residents — and build targeted expertise to help communities save money, learn from one another, make smarter decisions, and create a better quality of life for everyone in our region. As a local government ourselves, we are able to act as an extension of our local governments' staff in any area of work.

Currently, we work across six interconnected areas of focus:

👴
Aging & Human Services
Support for older adults & caregivers
💼
Community & Economic Development
Growth & opportunity for all
🌿
Environment & Resilience
Sustainability & disaster preparedness
🏠
Housing
Safe, affordable homes for all residents
🛠️
Member Support & Strategy
Technical assistance & capacity building
🚌
Mobility & Transportation
Connected, accessible transit networks

Later
